Molshri and Shivang are best friends and members of a college street-theater group. While Molshri is a social justice warrior, always on the lookout to 'fix society', Shivang is secretly gay and struggles with his sexuality. The story begins when they are expelled from college for robbing the canteen. They beg, plead, and cry to get a second chance. Moved by their tears, the Dean offers them another chance. They need to do a community service project and help 5 children from an impoverished slum get educated. Thus begins a journey that changes their lives for ever. Nukkad Naatak makes a statement about what it means to be young in India. Through Molshri we see a young person's POV of Indian social issues while through Shivang we explore the life of a gay man in a conservative society.
